Hi, I’m Chris Morris — founder of Buffaluv Event Group, father of four, lifelong Hamburg native, and someone who believes deeply in music, family, and the power of creating unforgettable experiences. If I’m not working, I’m with my kids, chasing waterfalls, cheering on the Bills, or at a concert soaking up inspiration. Creativity, connection, and contribution fuel everything I do.

This is how Buffaluv was built — not just as a DJ company, but as a movement.

🎶 Where Music Started

My dad was the beginning of my music story.

He played guitar everywhere — at campfires, on the porch, on road trips — filling our life with Billy Joel, Paul Simon, Queen, The Eagles, Springsteen.

He didn’t just play songs.

He told the stories behind them.

That’s how I learned that music is connection, not noise.

💾 Napster → The First Spark

Napster, LimeWire, Kazaa — that era shaped me.

I built massive playlists for everything: snowboarding, driving, parties, late-night hangs.

That was my first real taste of DJing — curating energy before I ever touched equipment.

🎪 The Festival That Changed Everything

My first festival flipped a switch.

Snoop Dogg, DJ Shadow, MSTRKRFT — the energy, the lights, the tech, the way an entire crowd moved together.

I didn’t want to watch it.

I wanted to create it.

🎹 Production → Obsession

A friend handed me a keyboard and that was it.

I built a home studio, layered sounds, made 30+ tracks, and delivered pizzas to buy my first controller and PA system.

If I wanted to share music live, I had to learn the craft for real.

🎧 Clubs, Mentorship & The Early Grind

My early gigs were rough — Whiskey River, Limelight — but that’s where I met my first mentor.

He taught me the real fundamentals:

• timing

• phrasing

• crowd reading

• discipline

• identity

No shortcuts.

No ego.

Just craft.

I spent years grinding in clubs and private events building that foundation.

🎛 The “In-Between” Years — Working for Multiple Companies

Before I fully entered weddings, I worked for several DJ companies across WNY.

Each one had different systems and standards — but they all taught me the same thing:

None of them valued DJs.

We weren’t paid well.

We weren’t appreciated.

We were treated as replaceable.

Every company was stuck in a race to the bottom — cheaper equipment, cheaper service, cheaper pay.

It showed me exactly what the industry was missing:

real skill, real leadership, real consistency, and real care.

This became the foundation of everything I built later.

🎤 Learning the Wedding World

When I started weddings, I wasn’t good at MCing.

My presence wasn’t strong yet.

My leadership still developing.

Then mentor #2 taught me how to MC the right way — how to run a room, guide a night, and elevate moments without making it about me.

That’s when everything started to click.

Throughout the journey, four mentors shaped the DNA of Buffaluv Event Group:

1. One taught me how to DJ
2. One taught me how to MC
3. One taught me how to lead
4. One taught me business

Those four pillars became our company standards.

📉 COVID — Collapse → Awakening

Before COVID, Buffaluv Soundz was thriving — 35 weddings booked, momentum rising.

Then everything halted.

Weddings dropped from 35 to 5.

Four kids. Two dogs. A mortgage.

A dream hanging by a thread.

I felt like I failed my family.

Then I watched The Art of Living by Matthew McConaughey — and everything shifted.

I realized:

If I rebuild myself, I can rebuild everything else.

🔥 The Rebuild — And the Impact Mindset

I learned new skills — marketing, design, branding, systems, video editing, client experience.

I rebuilt the website, the brand visuals, the messaging, and the entire operation.

And along that climb, I learned the truth:

The secret to living is giving.

The secret to happiness is progress.

We cracked the code.

Impact became the priority.

Progress became the fuel.

Everything in Buffaluv is built on that foundation.

If it doesn’t elevate someone — a couple, a vendor, a teammate, or a guest — it doesn’t belong here.

As Buffaluv grew, I knew it couldn’t be a one-man show forever.

Letting go of my cousin — someone who helped me start — was painful, but it opened the door to building a real team with real standards.

Now we built a culture around:

Workshops, retreats, ongoing training — a team committed to delivering unforgettable experiences.

🌍 Expansion Across WNY

We expanded from Buffalo to:

• Rochester

• Chautauqua

• Southern Tier

Bringing elevated standards and modern DJ/MC leadership to weddings across the region.

💎 Platinum Preview, Vendor Network & Elevated Standards

We built the vendor network after one of our brides was scammed — to protect couples and raise the bar across WNY.

We launched the Platinum Preview — a better, sharper version of what we’ve always done — letting couples experience our brand firsthand.

This became a cornerstone of how Buffaluv sets the standard in the wedding world.

🧭 Paying It Forward — DJ Academy & Vendor Education

After being shaped by mentors, it became my turn to give it back.

Teaching real mixing, real MC presence, professionalism, and wedding leadership.

Vendor Workshops

Helping venues, planners, photographers, and creatives build stronger systems and better client experiences.

Lifting the industry instead of competing with it.

The 2026 overhaul is the biggest evolution in our history.

It includes a full luxury upgrade across the entire company, five new premium services, and the most advanced DJ & event-planning app available.

It represents the next level of who we are:

cleaner systems, elevated experiences, sharper visuals, and a more powerful way for couples to plan and celebrate.
